Event: Student Ministry Middle School Mission Engagement: Memphis, TN

Participants will be working with a ministry named Street Reach in an impoverished area of North Memphis. For over 20 years, Street Reach has been in this community and earned a strong reputation and high level of respect in the neighborhood. They have recently launched their own private school to further minister to local inner-city kids in a safe and Christ-centered environment. Our team will be housed at their private school which has bunk rooms, individual hot showers, and is secured by a locked gate. 

In partnership with Street Reach, our mission team will host Backyard Bible Clubs (outdoor VBS) for local neighborhood children each morning. Our students will lead a specific area: Bible story, crafts, recreation, music, and rotation leader. In the afternoons, we will participate in a variety of service projects like kids sport clubs, food banks, etc. Check out what a day on the mission trip looks like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCudsK4oRx8 . 

The cost per student is $385.  Each additional student in the same family only pays $335 ($50 sibling discount). The registration and payment schedule are as follows:

• At Registration                            $100 Non-refundable Deposit
• Sunday, March 26, 2023:           Deadline for $150 Second Payment
• Sunday, April 23, 2023:              Deadline for Final Balance

Note: The total balance may be paid at any time but minimum payments must be paid according to the payment schedule. Additional payments can be made via eGiving.

In addition to the monetary costs for this trip, every student that desires to be a part of this mission engagement must do the following:

• Attend all training sessions on the following dates: 
  • Sunday, March 26, 12:30-2:00PM (lunch provided)
  • Sunday, April 30, 12:30-2:00PM (lunch provided)
  • Sunday, May 21, 12:30-2:00PM (lunch provided)
  • Sunday, June 4, 12:30-2:00PM (lunch provided)
• Demonstrate a commitment to Christ in your lifestyle.
• Demonstrate consistent good behavior and respect of authority.
• Demonstrate a commitment to regular attendance at FHBC Students.
• Complete all trip preparation assignments.
• Serving at FHBC VBS is highly encouraged
• Meet financial deadlines.
