Cosmos is an organization of First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego. 

More importantly, Cosmos is our home, and we ourselves are Cosmos in the form of a human being. We are Cosmos after 13.8 billion years of unbroken cosmic evolution. We are Cosmos experiencing itself (which is ourselves) and reflecting on this amazing reality. As Carl Sagan said, “We are stardust studying the stars.” 

We are cosmic beings, and we are coming together to gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and our role in the Cosmos. We explore the scientific understanding of the birth and evolution of our cosmic home, where our universe has come from, and where it appears to be going. We contemplate how we can participate in Cosmos fulfilling its evolutionary journey. 

This is a spiritual journey of transforming our consciousness and our experience of ourselves to be in accord with what we have discovered about our universe from our most recent science. We are bringing together the Story of the Universe and Mindfulness Meditation so that we can learn about ourselves in and as Cosmos, and so we can contemplate deeply the nature of ourselves and humankind as we coevolve with our universe. Our goal is a transformation of our identity and our way of experiencing ourselves as cosmic beings. Healing and transformation of ourselves is what we think is necessary for the healing and wellbeing of our world.
